Ministry of Public Works Orders Expressway Construction Company to Remove Certain Signs

PHNOM PENH: A Spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport has said that the ministry has ordered the expressway construction company to remove some traffic signs after they were criticized by members of the public on social media.

Ministry of Public Works and Transport Spokesperson, Kong Vimean, posted a message on his official Facebook account on Monday, 3 October, sharing that the Ministry had ordered the expressway construction company to remove some traffic signs, such as those prohibiting logging and cutting off road safety fence signs. The Spokesperson added that the production and placement of these signs were not discussed with the Ministry in advance.

"Because of this ax sign, these days, my team and I do not rest. This is because the company did not discuss with the Ministry before the production of the road as a sign prohibiting logging and cutting off road safety fences," he wrote."

He added, "With a lot of questions from people on social media on the ax sign, the Ministry has already ordered the company to remove it."

At the same time, Spokesperson Kong Vimean also asked the public for forgiveness on this matter, for the unintentional confusion caused by the company.

He also wished everyone who travels on the expressway to have safe and secure trips, and to also help promote such national achievements even further.
